December 19th, state corporation "Russian Technologies" held the first open contest of civil innovative projects of Russian military-industrial complex (MIC). The aim of the contest was to involve the organizations of Russian defense industry in the development of innovative economy based on the formation of a new direction to diversify their business, based on the development, production and promotion of domestic and foreign markets civilian high-tech products in the framework of the newly established innovative companies. (source). More than 600 participants took part in this contest - from the Russian defense enterprises, industrial and scientific organizations, innovative companies, universities and individuals. Contest consisted of four categories - best R&D, best innovative product, best innovative business (company), best management team innovation project. LLC "FMT" (AMT&C Group) presented a project of energy efficient electric motor based on permanent rare earth magnets, which took 2nd place in the category of "Best Development (R&D) of innovative world-class products".
